I know it's been a while, but sometimes for dear friends I feel motivated to break out the white charcoal. I bought a nice big black paper pad a while back, and this seemed like a good first thing to post from it.

To my knowledge, T0ra (as he is known) doesn't have a dA account, but that doesn't make him any less of someone I cherish. My time left in San Diego dwindles, but at least he'll have the hard copy of this to remember me by, no matter where our life journeys will send us.

Having done all of this quite freehand, it's a bit of an artistic direction I've never really pursued before--unlike the other two pieces, which were done right from reference. I think it turned out...alright.

Nice upload =3

Good to see things coming out of left field once in a while =D

For something to be a memento for someone else, the best ones would be those made personally, and I'm sure he appreciates the effort you've placed into this pic. Its a good sign of friendship =3

Thanks!

Coming out of left field is a good way to describe a lot of what I do, in general. XD When I was young and playing little league baseball, that was where they put me a lot of the time, too, so I suppose it makes sense.

My ability to make the kind of mementos I would like is hampered by my relative lack of artistic ability, so I'm always happy when it works out at least a little bit. He seemed happy with the piece, too, which was nice. Still waiting on him to frame and hang it, though. XD

Virtually anything that humans can accomplish can be trained. Which is why I'm training to be a pharmacist. It's more than a little difficult to train to be an artist at the same time. X3;
